New Location!!! 810 Front St.
I finally did it! I am out of the house and working at a studio near the Great Northern Town Center. Enter through the Exploration Works entrance and take a right. Come down and talk to me about what you have been dreaming about! I am there for the most part from 8-5 M-F but since I have to go out for installs and measurements I would recommend calling first.

Sandblasting
As if I didn't have enough on my plate already...
I recently added multi-level sandblasting to my list of talents. Multi-level sandblasting is done by spraying different parts of the piece for different periods of time. That way, you have different shades of white. Doing this allows designs to be more detailed and less like a sillouette.

First Book Released
True-To-Life Animals, the first in the True-To-Life Series, was released November 14, 2003. It is a collection of my favorite animal patterns. I have always been very particular about my animal patterns look as close to the real thing as possible by following muscle structure when I draw the pattern. I plan on continuing the series, but don't expect anything next month, it takes me a long time to get every thing together because I bounce between 2 jobs to support my stained glass passion and help support my family. Here are the rest I have planned for my True-To-Life Series...And hey, if you can't wait till the next one comes out, e-mail and let me know, and I may get to it faster knowing people are waiting for it:

  • Horses
  • Animals of Africa
  • Wildflowers
  • Carousel Animals

Carousel Project Finally Completed!
Well, after more than a year's worth of time, patience, and excitement the carousel project is finally finished. The final project is now at its final resting place, at the Great Northern Town Center in Helena, Montana. I successfully completed all of the rounding boards on the carousel itself, the carousel stained glass above the old Broadwater Hotel windows, and the hot air balloon above the Painted Pony Parties area. The carousel opened, as scheduled, on May 4, 2002. The Great Northern Carousel was featured in "The Carousel News & Trader" Magazine in June 2003. Click here to view the article which includes pictures of the stained glass and some of the animals. The hours and days of operation are listed on the Great Northern Town Center website.

Carousel Project Nearly Completed!

Make sure to check back for more Carousel Project updates!
After a year plus in the making, the Great Northern Carousel is scheduled to open May 4, 2002. Fourteen rounding boards with kiln fired mosaic tiles and two stained glass windows are nearly completed. It has been quite a journey, but well worth the extra time in the studio. Seven historical buildings and seven native Montana wildlife adorn the canape of the carousel in airbrushed and painted panels. It will be a truely unique carousel in that it is, and may forever be, the only one with mosaic glasswork in the canape. Click here (links are now broken) for more pictures of the project. Then check out the Carousel Watch(links are now broken) on the Great Northern Towncenter website! See the Friday, May 3rd edition of YourTime in the Independant Record for more carousel details! We look forward to seeing you there Saturday and Sunday, May 4 & 5th for the Big GRAND OPENING!!!

First Harris Art Glass Pattern Book
After the Carousel Project is completed, work will begin on the first pattern book by Mary Harris, the owner and artist behind Harris Art Glass. She will take her years of drawing her own patterns and create the first pattern book in a series of realistic pattern books. The first book will focus on wildlife. So, if you like Mary Harris' work and would like to make some yourself, watch for the first pattern book by Mary Harris!
